The Ozette loop trail is a nice 8.6 mile loop hike. I went from the trailhead to Cape Alva then along the beach to Sand Point and back. The weather was overcast and for about 20 minutes I took refuge in the forest (I was on the beach at the time) from a heavy rain. The forest trails were almost all on raised wood platforms since otherwise the trails would probably be mud much of the time. The deer was eating from a perch in the forest looking out to the Pacific Ocean.
