Shoichiro Toyoda

Born in 1925, he graduated from Nagoya University in 1947 with a degree in engineering and later earned a doctorate in engineering. He joined Toyota in 1952. He was the son of Kiichiro Toyoda and grandson of Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of Toyota.

He served as the President of Toyota Motor Corporation from 1982 to 1992. From 1992 to 1999 he was the chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation.

He received the Deming Prize in 1980.
