I hiked part of the Mount Timpanogos trail the day before this hike. I wanted to try and go through the cave that afternoon, but arrived to late. The hike to the cave is quite a climb but not really that far, still the park service requires you buy tickets more than an hour before the start time of your hike.

I bought a ticket for a early hike the next day and enjoyed the walk up to the cave entrance (it took maybe 30 minutes going slowly). It turned out I was the only one to show up so I was guided on my own tour by the park ranger (only ranger led hikes are allowed. The cave hike is very easy with paved walkways. It was quite nice but could be skipped in my opinion.

I found this hike in a great book: 100 Hikes in Utah. I also used 50 Best Short Hikes in Utah's National Parks a great deal on this trip, both were excellent.
